Palisades Park, N.J., July 12, 2012 – N.E.W. Christian Academy and EBR Energy Corporation are proud to announce the planned commissioning of the newly installed solar photovoltaic (“Photovoltaic”) system at 426 Commercial Avenue in Palisades Park, New Jersey on July 20, 2012 at 1:30PM EST. The 36.96 kW system is expected to produce 40,662 kWh in the first year of operation, and is expected to reduce 71.7% of electricity cost in its first year of operation. The solar system to be placed-in-service is the first for a Korean-American owned day care and preschool in Palisades Park, New Jersey.

The system was designed and installed by EBR Energy Corporation, headquartered in Iselin, New Jersey. N.E.W. Christian Academy utilized the solar loan program from PSE&G, in addition to the Treasury 1603 grant to finance the system, which substantially reduced the out of pocket cost. In conjunction with the commissioning ceremony held at N.E.W. Christian Academy, EBR Energy Corporation’s Regional Sales Manager and Corporate Counsel, Mr. Alexander D. Kim, stated that “EBR Energy is making a big push in the Korean-American community. Now is the right time for Korean-American business owners and home owners to take control of their energy future. For example, home owners can have a solar system installed without having to put up any money upfront, and save on their electric bills for years to come. ”

One of the founders and directors of N.E.W. Christian Academy, Ms. Rachel Lee stated that, “it is very gratifying to see that N.E.W. Christian Academy’s solar system will be put in operation. The school anticipates savings on its electric bills, but more importantly, the children at the school will learn how renewable energy will protect their environment.” Established in 1997, N.E.W. Christian Academy is a private pre-school program catering to the Korean-American community of the Bergen County. The school’s web site can be found at

The Chief Executive Officer of EBR Energy Corporation, Mr. Aftab Choudrie said, “the cost of installing solar system has dropped by more than 50% in the last few years. By taking advantage of the various incentive programs, business owners and home owners can hedge against the ever rising energy costs. Simply put, solar systems put idle roofs to work, and generate real benefits in dollars and sense to everyone and the environment.”
